Sports
In May, Belgrade will be a center of European basketball. From 18th to 20th May, the famous Final Four 2018 tournament will take place in the Belgrade Arena. We can expect basketball fans from Spain, Russia, Turkey, and all over Europe.
To mark the season of outdoor sports, the Belgrade Bike festival will take place on Sunday 20th May. Bicycle lovers organize a friendly ride from the Republic Square to Ada Ciganlija. Concerts, panels, and open discussions will take place at the first stop - Belgrade waterfront, from where cyclists will continue towards Ada Ciganlija. The Belgrade Bike festival promotes healthy living, spending time outdoors and raising awareness about the harmfulness of traffic pollution.
Industrial revolution 4.0
This month from 21st to 25th May the 62nd Technical Fair will take place at the Belgrade Fair. "A step into the future" is this year's slogan and visitors will certainly step into the futuristic world of automated technology. Technical fair is unique since it has guided presentations where visitors can experience, first hand, how robots, automatic machines, and advanced software work. This fair will mark the coming of the new industrial revolution where we will have automatic manufacturing and the widely spread Internet of Things technology.
Festivals
The international festival of documentary film - Beldocs will take place from 7th of May until the 14th. This festival will feature a great number of foreign and Serbian movies in 14 different sections. To celebrate the 70 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Beldocs will highlight the movies featuring this topic. Screenings will be organized on various locations in the city.
Another festival, immensely popular among the younger audience - Belgrade Manifest, will take place at Kalemegdan park and fortress. From 25th to 27th May participants from all over Serbia and region will present their local culture and specialties. This festival is a unique combination of fun, tourism, ecology, culture, and art. 60 different municipalities from the region will present the unique beauty of their hometown. Kids' zone is even bigger this year, and everyone's favorite hot air balloons will rise up in the air to celebrate the 2018 Belgrade Manifest. Entrance is free.
Museum of Illusions
This May Belgrade will get a unique Museum of Illusions where nothing is as it seems and everything is different on the other side of the mirror. The opening will take place on the 22nd May in Nusiceva street. The concept of the museum is the interactive discovery of a different world, a world where you can’t trust your senses. Mind will play tricks on you, your perception will be changed and the entire experience will be fun! The museum is a part of a large franchise, and there are similar ones in Vienna, Ljubljana, and Zagreb. Illusion museums are very popular among children, as they have no fear to lose balance in the "vortex" tunnel and they are eager to take selfies in the kaleidoscopic mirrors. Ticket price for adults is 600rsd, for children (5-15) the ticket is 450rsd, while the family ticket is 1500rsd.
