December in Novi Sad

We're way into the most festive month of the year. December is reserved for celebrations, holidays and vacations. After we make our New Year's resolutions, it's time to relax and enjoy the winter fun. Check out what's hot this December in Novi Sad.

Novi Sad Winterfest

Starting on 28 November until the 29 December, the main event in Novi Sad will be the Winter Fest. Similar to other European cities, Novi Sad will dedicate a whole month to parties and celebrations. Every evening at 18h kids' choirs will perform Christmas carols and festive songs, just like in the movies! This attraction is known as "singing tree," and it is one of the most popular attractions at this festival. You can ride in a horse carriage and funny photo booths, food stands, and gift shops. Guests will have an opportunity to see a photography exhibition and to dance along pop and rock music or party with favorite Novi Sad DJ's.

Frozen Forest

The Frozen Forest is a name for a beautiful ice skating rink in Dunavski park. Along with the central arena, there is a skating trail that goes around the lake. On weekends, visitors can enjoy concerts and DJ parties and recuperate after at food stands. There will be homemade treats, mulled wine and candy.

If you want to go skating you need to purchase a ticket and rent skates, or you can bring your own. You need to put the skates on 20 minutes before your round, and then you will be all set for the ice party. The opening of this frosty forest is on 7 December, and the magic will last until 20 January.

Concerts

On top of being the most festive month of the year, December is also a month where we have the most concerts and gigs. Many musicians have their annual solo concerts in December, so it is no wonder that we have so much going on this month. On 6 December, an alternative rock band called Artan Lili will play in Lazino tele. A famous Serbian singer Željko Joksimović has a big concert scheduled in Spens hall on 7 December. Vasil Hadžimanov and his jazz fusion band will bring to life traditional Balkan melodies in Synagogue on 21 December. With so many gigs going on, it will be hard to pick just one!

New Year’s Eve 2019

Everyone is getting ready for the spectacular welcoming on the New 2019. Some restaurants, bars, and clubs are already all booked for the night, and the Novi Sad squares are getting ready for amazing concerts. This year the city chose a modern and sophisticated sound that suits the European Capital of Culture (selected for 2021). Trg slobode will turn into a massive party where Nele Karajlić, Magnifico and Filatov & Karas, a DJ duo from Moscow, will perform.
