September in Novi Sad

September begins with festivals and events at the Štrand Beach. We still have a chance to enjoy warm weather, while we slowly prepare for the beginning school, exams and the arrival of golden fall. Find out what's up and about this month in Novi Sad.

We roll out this September with a kind cause - humanitarian Mom's Bazaar. On Saturday, September 1, from 11h to 19h, at this colorful bazaar, you will have a chance to buy and exchange toys, books, and baby gear, take part in humanitarian actions, and spend some quality time with your kids at children's' workshops on Štrand.

Video media festival

Video media, an international video art festival, will be held from August 31 to September 2 at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina (Dunavska 37). The festival is designed to present new video trends and to support the affirmation of young artists and students. This year, the audience will have a chance to see "Made in Serbia" works, experimental video formats, and the hybrid forms such as video applications and interactive video exhibitions.

The gastronomy festival

The gastronomy festival "Flavours of Vojvodina" will be held on September 8-9 in Liman park. Guest will have a chance to try more than a hundred traditional dishes of Vojvodina, including the traditional Sunday lunch, a staple of national cooking in this region. Chefs will prepare contemporary specialties, Mediterranean dishes, and desserts, yet all dishes will come with a twist. Only Vojvodina style cooking and ingredients are allowed. Visitors will be able to buy homemade products, preserved foods, wines, brandy, craft beers and many other delights. There will be a unique cooking competition to spice things up, where the best chefs of Vojvodina will compete to make the tastiest dish out of the unknown ingredients. The entrance is free, so come hungry and get ready for a real blast.

The Night Challenge

Are you ready for a mountain bike race and a marathon on Fruška Gora at night? Running and cycling through a forest at night sounds scary? Actually, it sounds like a blast. This year, on September 15, the second Night Challenge will take place. Participants will be able to go through three different paths - the fun trail of 4,100 m, height difference +/- 184 m, hobby trail 10,144 m, height difference +/- 470 m, and the sports trail - 18,863 m, altitude difference +/- 825 m. This is a unique way to test your hiking and racing skills, have fun and meet new people. Time for these challenges is limited to 5 hours, and the start is scheduled for 19h in Popovica when cyclists start their race, while other competitors start at 20h.
